St. Martin's-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church

St. Martin's-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church Episcopal Church in the Upper Diocese of South Carolina St. We are a neighborhood church, yet we are concerned with the world.

Martin's is a liturgically grounded parish whose members strive to live their lives in a deep understanding of the proud Anglican idea of the "via media," or "the middle way." We are traditional in our liturgy, but progressive in our inquiry and approach to new learning. We are diverse, but unified; moderate in size, large in spirit. And as you will often hear said in worship, "All are welcome here."

We had a full room this Sunday for our new adult formation class, "The Crisis of Christian Nationalism." This class follows the 2022 House of Bishops Theology Committee's study by the same name, exploring the origins and growth of Christian Nationalism in American culture as well as the Church's call to remain a light to the world. The class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:15 AM through the end of October. Come join us! The subject matter can be heavy at times, but discussion is grounded in faith, with guidelines to create a safe space to learn and reflect.
