One thing we’ve learned through serving families over the years is that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness leave the biggest impact.

Maybe it was someone mowing your grass during a difficult season, bringing a meal when you needed it most, helping fix something around your home, or simply showing up when you felt alone.

💛 Sometimes it's the small things that make the biggest difference. 💛

To many of us, yard work can feel like just another weekend chore. But for someone who is elderly, facing health challenges, a single parent, or going through a difficult season, something as simple as mowing grass, trimming bushes, or cleaning up a yard can feel overwhelming.

At Second Saturday, we’re reminded often that serving isn’t always about grand gestures. Sometimes it’s showing up, lending a hand, and helping lighten someone’s load.

Small acts of kindness can make a big impact. 🌱

This week’s Scripture comes from one of our “Pray Out” sessions:

"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." – Isaiah 40:29 (NIV)

At Second Saturday, it’s important to us to not only begin every GO Event with “Praying In,” but also to end by “Praying Out.” We take time to reflect, thank God for the opportunity to serve, and remember who all of this is truly for.

HE is the reason we serve.
HE is the source of our strength.
HE is who we do this for. 💛

Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend—it’s a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy came at a great cost. We are thankful for those who gave everything in service to our country, and we keep their families in our thoughts and prayers today.

It is also an honor for us at Second Saturday to serve veterans at times through our GO Events each month. Being able to give back, even in a small way, to those who have served our country is a privilege we never take for granted.

As we gather with family and friends, may we never forget those who made it possible. ❤️

As each car passes our GO Event each month, that's another person we get to witness to. Another person wondering, "Who are they? What are they doing?" 👀

We see the slow drive-bys, the curious looks, and we love it because every glance is an opportunity. Sometimes serving catches people's attention, and sometimes that attention turns into action.

Maybe one day, that slow drive-by will be you...and maybe next time you'll stop and join us.

Remember how Colton "did the dirt" at another event last month? Well this month...he "did the wood!" 🪵🔨

At just 8 years old, Colton started his day running in a 5K and then came straight to help at the GO Event this May.

Thank you, Colton, for showing that serving others has no age limit and for jumping in to help however needed! And thank you to men and women that realize how important it is to teach a younger generation what it is to serve others and why we do it! 💛
