Meet at Harbison State Forest park office
Beginners, experts, dogs, and children (with parent) welcome
Woodwose Outdoor Connections (contact Drew Radeker)

Come enjoy the positive mental health effects of spending time in the woods. September 12 will be our first hike, but these beginner-friendly hikes will be ongoing and will be less than 5 miles. This will be a "safe space," for those who aren't versed in wilderness skills to have a direct experience with the truly real world - the one God, not people, made. Naturally, experienced hikers and other nature folks are more than welcome! No need to register, just show up and make sure to wear appropriate shoes/boots and bring water.

A Child Needs You

There are many children in our community that are in need of mentors at Forest Lake Elementary and the good folks who work there would greatly appreciate just 30 minutes of your time, only once a week, to help support these students.

Mentoring requires no special training - just a willingness to listen, guide and support a child who could benefit from your time. Mentors spend time with a student to help them with reading, math skills, etc. or just simply be there as a friend.

Mentoring truly does matter! If this is a program for you please contact Emily Peebles at [email protected].

Disaster Assistance in Nepal

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) has long-standing relationships with partners in Nepal. Since the 2015 earthquake, PDA has responded to several disasters and supported emergency needs in addition to long-term recovery and livelihood projects.

In August 2026, during the heavy rains and monsoon season, flash floods resulted in deadly landslides. An emergency grant is providing medicine kits, food items, shelter and more. As the needs change, PDA will support their partners through the long-term recovery phase. To donate to the victims in Nepal please visit:
