Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It is with humility, gratitude, and a deep sense of calling that I seek your prayerful support as a candidate for Associate Director of the Connectional Music and Christian Arts Ministry of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Throughout my life and ministry, God has blessed me with opportunities to serve the Church through music, worship, education, and leadership. From my early years as a church musician in Charleston, South Carolina, to my current service as Minister of Music at Mother Emanuel AME Church, I have remained committed to using the gifts God has entrusted to me for the edification of His people and the advancement of His Kingdom.
My ministry journey has been shaped by experiences that have strengthened my faith and deepened my understanding of the transformative power of worship. Following the tragic events at Mother Emanuel in 2015, I witnessed firsthand how music became a source of healing, hope, and spiritual renewal for our congregation and community. That experience further affirmed my conviction that music and Christian arts are vital instruments through which God ministers to His people.
As a servant of the Seventh Episcopal District, I have sought to contribute to the life of our Church through leadership, education, financial stewardship, and musical excellence. Whether serving as Treasurer of the International Music and Christian Arts Ministry, facilitating hymn workshops, mentoring students, or supporting local congregations, my desire has always been to strengthen the worship life of the Church and equip others for effective ministry.
If elected, I will work collaboratively with our leadership and ministry teams to support and enhance the mission of the Connectional Music and Christian Arts Ministry. My vision includes fostering excellence in worship, developing and mentoring emerging leaders, preserving the rich musical heritage of our denomination, and creating opportunities for greater engagement across all generations.
I respectfully ask for your prayers, your encouragement, and your support. Together, we can continue building a ministry that inspires worship, cultivates discipleship, and glorifies God through music and Christian arts.
As Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Thank you for your consideration and for your faithful service to our Church.
Yours in Christ,
Dr. Wayne Maurice Singleton
