A huge thank you to Will Phelps and Boy Scout Troop 10 for leading an incredible Eagle Scout Service Project benefiting our Food Pantry! 🛠️❤️

The troop worked together to build new shelving that will help us better organize food and serve families throughout our community more efficiently.

Recently, The Salvation Army of the Midlands and Rapid Shelter Columbia celebrated the first graduates of the K.I.T.C.H.E.N. program! 🎓❤️

Through this partnership, shelter residents participate in a six-week workforce development program focused on food preparation, food handling, and hospitality training, leading to a ServSafe certification.

More than a certification, this program provides encouragement, job readiness, and opportunities for long-term stability as participants move forward on their journey.
Congratulations to these graduates on this incredible accomplishment — we are proud of you!

Every year on the first Friday of June, America
celebrates National Donut Day with free treats and donut deals, but behind the glaze
and sprinkles is a powerful history of remarkable women who showed up with
compassion when it mattered most. This June 5, The Salvation Army invites its neighbors to fill our community with joy by honoring the heart and resilience of
the tradition.
National Donut Day was established in 1938 to honor the women who volunteered with
The Salvation Army to provide spiritual and emotional care, critical supplies, and freshly
fried donuts to American soldiers on the front lines of World War I. These women
became known as “Donut Lassies,” and today, their legacy is a reminder that small acts
of kindness can carry enormous joy.

Recently, friends, staff, volunteers, and community leaders gathered to celebrate Majors Mark and LeighAnn Craddock and their years of faithful ministry, leadership, and love throughout the Midlands. 🌺❤️

During the farewell luncheon, Mayor Daniel Rickenmann presented the Majors with a proclamation recognizing their lasting impact on our community and the countless lives they have touched through The Salvation Army.

We are deeply grateful for their servant leadership, compassion, and dedication, and we wish them many blessings in this next chapter.
