"Only with prayer...will the culture of death that surrounds us today be replaced with a Culture of Life." - U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
The Catholic Bishops of Missouri are calling all Catholics, pro-life advocates, and other people of good will throughout the state to pray and fast for the passage of pro-life Amendment 3. Secretary of State Denny Hoskins has certified HJR 73 for the November 3, 2026, general election. The Missouri Catholic Conference reports that coincidentally, the measure will appear as “Amendment 3,” even as it aims to roll back some of the worst provisions of the pro-abortion constitutional amendment of the same name that narrowly passed in 2024.
If approved by voters, the 2026 pro-life Amendment 3 would amend the Missouri Constitution to restore these protections which will:
Severely limit the number of abortions in the state.
• Require abortion clinics to meet high standards for safety and cleanliness.
• Ensure parental or judicial consent for minors.
• Prohibit gender transition procedures for minors.
• Severely limit public funding for abortion services.
During the 2026 Amendment 3 prayer campaign, individuals, families, groups, schools, and parishes in the four Catholic Dioceses in Missouri and all people of good will are invited to unite in this statewide prayer campaign by:
