Join us for the Southern Illinois District Youth Gathering on Saturday, August 29 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL. This day is set apart for high school youth to pause, rest, and be renewed in Christ.

In the middle of busy schedules and constant noise, this gathering is an opportunity to step away and reflect on the true rest given to us through our Savior, Jesus Christ. Come spend the day in Bible study, worship, fellowship, and meaningful activities designed to encourage and restore.

The day will feature a keynote from Rev. Brandon Metcalf, along with breakout sessions from Barry Pfeiffer on “The Blessing of Boredom” and Laura Morrison on “Finding Sabbath.” Enjoy pastries and coffee in the morning, plus lunch provided with subs and salads from Firehouse.

New's and Notes - 7/5/26

DCE Call Committee Update: The call committee interviewed two candidates this past week. Over the next few weeks, we will be seeking to gather the names of more individuals we might interview. Those on the call committee are, Scott Perry, Patrick Grandt, Mitch Essert, Becky Stevens, Carleigh Ottwell, and Pastor Krenz.

Sunday Bible Class: Next Sunday we will continue our look at various denominations and how that compares to the Lutheran Church. Next week we will see how we are similar and different than the United Church of Christ (UCC), and the Methodist Church along with a presentation from the Youth group on their summer servant event at Heit’s Point, Missouri.

No Sunday School: During the rest of July there will be no children’s Sunday School.

Voter’s Meeting Our annual Summer Voter’s meeting is set for Tuesday, July 28th at 6:30pm.
