Community Good Friday Service of Lament

Noon, April 3, First Baptist Church lawn on Broadway, by the Cross
Now is a GOOD time to be together, to pray together, to sing together, to remember together and to dream together. The story of Jesus’ death is difficult to hear. He was, like many people then and now, hurt intentionally by people with power. During this service, we will remember and repent for persecutions in the last 100 years, and we will dream together of something better.

Ash Wednesday services this week are at 8am, noon, and 5:30pm. Join us to pray and to prepare for the Lenten season. The 5:30 service will include music and the choir.

Here is the Holy Week service schedule, beginning with Palm Sunday on April 13 and finishing with Easter morning:

PALM SUNDAY, April 13:
8:00 am - Rite 1 Worship Service with Holy Eucharist, in-person in the sanctuary and livestreamed on YouTube. Procession begins in the Memorial Garden (weather permitting).

9:15 am - Ecumenical Worship Service on the front lawn of the 1st Baptist Church.

10:30 am - Rite II Worship Service with Holy Eucharist, in-person in the sanctuary and livestreamed on YouTube. Procession begins in the Memorial Garden (weather permitting).

MAUNDY THURSDAY, April 17:
6:30 pm - Agape Meal in the parish hall.

7:00 pm - Rite 2 Maundy Thursday Liturgy with footwashing and Stripping of the Altar, in-person in the sanctuary and livestreamed on YouTube.

GOOD FRIDAY, April 18:
12 noon - Good Friday Liturgy and Holy Eucharist from Reserve Sacrament, in-person in the sanctuary.

7:00 pm - Good Friday Liturgy and Gathering at the Cross, in-person in the sanctuary and livestreamed on YouTube.

HOLY SATURDAY, April 19:
9:00 am - Holy Saturday Service, in-person in the Memorial Garden.

8:00 pm - The Great Vigil of Easter, in-person in the sanctuary and livestreamed on YouTube. Begins in the Memorial Garden (weather permitting).

EASTER MORNING, April 20:
8:00 am - Rite 1 Worship Service with Holy Eucharist, in-person in the sanctuary and livestreamed on YouTube.

10:30 am - Rite II Worship Service with Holy Eucharist and Brass Ensemble, in-person in the sanctuary and livestreamed on YouTube.
