St. Barnabas, one of the first Christian disciples at Jerusalem, was the one who introduced St. Paul to the Apostles after Saul’s Damascus experience, and he and Paul made a missionary trip to Cyprus. Barnabas is believed to have traveled widely on numerous missionary trips, preaching the Gospel and assisting the poor.
The Book of Common Prayer provides us with this prayer for him:
Grant, O God, that we may follow the example of thy faithful servant Barnabas, who, seeking not his own renown but the well-being of thy Church, gave generously of his life and substance for the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
