Flowers to the Glory of God: A Flower Arranging Workshop at Christ Church Episcopal, GVL!
This Saturday, August 29 | 9 AM – 4 PM | All Saints Center
Parishioners, members of flower guilds at other congregations, and community members are invited to discover the art of floral design with the Christ Church Flower Arrangers’ Guild. Professional florist Chase McAbee and FDI Certified Floral Designer Connie DuPre will share tips and techniques for creating beautiful arrangements suited to sacred spaces. Calling all 18-24 year olds! You've settled into your campus home, or are working post-high school and you are invited to join your peers from across the diocese for building relationships across differences, practicing empathy, and embodying Christ-like peace at our Building Bridges not Walls retreat. We will spend lots of time having fun, relaxing at Camp, learning from each other, and building community. The cost is $100 and financial assistance is available upon request.

Save the Date! Meatless Appetizer Competition! Sunday, October 4th
To celebrate the season of creation, on October 4th after the 10:30 service, we will gather to enjoy each other's company and some delicious appetizers. But the appetizers will be more than normal appetizers – we are calling them "More d'oeuvres". More d'oeuvres are meatless hors d'oeuvres (yummy and better for the planet than meat-based food) and we will have a friendly competition (with prizes!) to select a winner. Start thinking about the recipe you will enter – more details on the event will be published soon.
