Another soldier has gone home! Our precious Mother Rosa Richardson has been a faithful member of the Progressive Church since the 1950s. Her life, her legacy, and her love for the Lord and the Progressive Church will always be remembered, and we take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in Jesus. We will miss her presence, her rejoicing, and her singing the songs of Zion, especially her signature song, “I Know It Was Jesus Who Brought Me From A Mighty Long Way.” Our prayers are especially with the Richardson Family as they prepare to bid farewell to their precious mother.

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the unexpected passing of our dear Deacon Kenneth Carmichael of the Progressive Church in Hopkins, SC. We rejoice in knowing the last thing he did before transitioning was to give God praise in the presence of the saints. Special prayers are requested for his wife, Sister Deborah Carmichael, their three sons, Bishop David S. Johnson and the Progressive Church Family of Hopkins, SC and the great host of family, friends and loved ones that he loved so dearly. Deacon Carmichael will never be forgotten. “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”- Psalms 116:15
