🌱 LOOK WHAT GOD IS BUILDING!

We have something to celebrate at City of Refuge! 🙌🏾

We're celebrating discipleship—people intentionally growing together, studying God's Word, encouraging one another, and learning what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.

And we're excited about the start of our Youth Ministry! 🔥

We're committed to helping the next generation build their lives on the firm foundation of God's Word.

Our prayer is that they won't simply know about Jesus, but will know Him, follow Him, obey Him, and live under His reign.

Church, let's pray for our disciples, our youth, and those pouring into them. ❤️

Jesus calls us to a new reign—a life lived under His authority.

Jesus doesn't simply ask for our attention. His authority demands a response.

Following Jesus means allowing Him to transform our hearts and surrendering the areas we'd rather control ourselves.

So today, ask:

What do I still need to yield to God?

Jesus isn't looking for people who only hear His words. He is forming disciples who hear AND obey.

The rain fell.
The floods came.
The winds blew.

But the house built on the rock stood.

The storm didn't create the foundation—it revealed what was already there.

So what is your life built on?

Jesus reminds us that our foundation must be God's Word. 🪨

The wise man didn't just hear the words of Jesus—he acted on them.— Matthew 7:24

Obedience should create a response because Jesus isn't only concerned with our actions—He is transforming the **condition of our hearts.

Ask yourself:

Am I willing to obey?
How am I responding to what Jesus has said?
What do I still need to yield to God?

Jesus didn't avoid the darkness.

He entered it.

He proclaimed hope in it.

He called people out of it.

He demonstrated His power in the middle of it.

Whatever darkness you may be facing today, remember:

Jesus draws near. He doesn't run away.

And because Jesus has power over all things, we can pray:

🙏🏾 “Jesus, demonstrate Your power in me. Use my life to show someone else who You are.”

Tomorrow, come worship the King with us!

What if the thing you’re praying God would change… is actually the place where He wants to show you His power? 👀

Matthew 4 shows Jesus stepping into a broken world and putting the power of His kingdom on display.

Sickness? He healed it.
Affliction? He had authority over it.
Brokenness? He brought restoration.

So if Christ has authority over the afflictions of this world, why would we believe our problems are beyond His reach?

Your finances.
Your family.
Your workplace.
Your relationships.
Your future.

None of it is outside the authority of the King. đź‘‘

The kingdom of God isn’t just something we talk about on Sunday.

The King has come.
His power is at work.
And He invites us to partake in His kingdom here and now.

Whatever you’re facing today, remember:

Your situation has a limit.
His power doesn’t.

Sometimes the thing keeping us from following Jesus isn't that we don't hear His call.

It's that we want to know all the details first.

But Jesus told the disciples, “Follow me.”

He didn't give them the entire plan.

He gave them an invitation to trust Him.

What aren't you pursuing because you're afraid to trust God with what happens next?

Follow Jesus. Trust the Lord with the details.
