It is with a profound sense of sorrow that I must convey the unfortunate passing of Mildred Virginia Williams, the beloved mother of Mike Williams. She succumbed to complications following a head injury sustained from an unfortunate fall. Upon receiving the distressing news, I hurried to the hospital to offer my support, only to find that she could no longer recognize those she loved. Mildred Virginia Williams was an incredibly wonderful person who brought joy to everyone around her. She consistently greeted me with warmth and affection, always offering a comforting hug and a radiant smile after the worship services at Saint Andrews Baptist Church.

On behalf of the congregation at the First Haitian Baptist Church of Columbia, I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to Mike and his devoted wife Charlotte, and to all the family and friends who are navigating this painful time of loss. My prayer for Mike and Charlotte is that they may find solace and resilience, and may the Lord bestow upon them strength and peace throughout this challenging journey.

Yours sincerely,
Pastor Tony Danastor

DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
We have also to bring before you a burden and that is the godlessness of this present age. It is not alone the wise men but, behold, the men that know not seek not after God. Oh Lord, the multitude delight in sin. Drunkenness defiles our city, and filthy words are heard on every side. Do not be angry with this nation, we beg you. It has been entrusted with wondrous privileges. Forgive it and have mercy upon its aggravated sin. Lay not its heavy responsibilities to its charge, but let this nation be saved. We pray for it, as we are in duty bound to do, and as our love constrains us to do. Oh, let the masses of the people yet come to seek after Christ. By some means, by all means, by every means, may the ears of men be reached, and then their hearts be touched.

Amen.

It is indeed a matter of great concern that there is ongoing violence and senseless killings among the Haitian people. Such destructive behavior not only hampers the progress and development of the nation but also inflicts irreparable harm on the social fabric of society. The escalation of violence only leads to a vicious cycle of retribution and suffering, with innocent lives being lost and families torn apart.
It is imperative for all individuals involved to recognize the futility and devastation caused by such actions. Dropping weapons and embracing dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution mechanisms is the only way forward towards building a harmonious and prosperous society. By engaging in constructive discourse and addressing grievances through peaceful means, the Haitian people can work towards healing the wounds of the past and forging a path towards a brighter future for themselves and future generations.
Let us come together as a united community, setting aside differences and working towards a shared goal of peace, stability, and progress. The power to transform the nation lies within the hands of its people, and it is through unity and resilience that Haiti can overcome its challenges and build a better tomorrow.

Ephesians 5:10-16 “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” Today is a wakeup call to all Christians everywhere.
