I realize that it's been a minute since an update, so I wanted to let everyone know that the merge is complete! All members should be receiving the weekly newsletter via email or snail mail, there will be a new directory coming soon, and we are all ready face the future as a united congregation! Thanks to everyone for all your help!

CUMC is officially moved out of 950 Gould and the building has been sold! It's been quite the journey, to say the least. There was so much that had to be done to get everything completed in the time we had, but we did it! Thanks to everyone that helped. There are a lot of CUMC items that went to help other churches and communities, both near and far!
Community may be finished with 950 Gould, but we are far from done! The merge with Faith has some steps left in the process, but the congregations are already worshiping together at Faith! So feel free to come on by and worship with all of us at 9:30 am on Sundays!

A reminder that today is our first day worshiping at Faith United Methodist Church - St. Anthony, MN! The service will begin at 10:30 a.m., and today will be the first performance of the combined choirs! This is Music Sunday, so this will be a music focused worship, with all the different music programs performing.

The children of Faith Church join the rest of the congregation at the start of worship each Sunday. Children will sit with their Kids Connect teachers and classmates at the front of the sanctuary and will help lead the first part of the worship service. Dear Community Dinner Patrons,
We are sorry to say that Monday, (May 22, 2023) is the last Community Dinner we will have at the 950 Gould Ave location.
The church building has been sold to Iglesias Evangelica, and they will begin their ministry in Columba Heights in early June. Please welcome them to the community.
We will continue to have deep roots in the community and hope to find new ways to serve Heights in the future.

Community United Methodist Church will be holding our last worship service at 950 Gould in Columbia Heights on Sunday, May 14 at 10:00 a.m. For 116 years, CUMC has served the Heights community, but the time has come for another faith community to call this city, and this building, home. We rejoice that we have found a new home with Faith United Methodist Church - St. Anthony, MN, where we will continue to (to paraphrase John Wesley), “Do all the good that we can, as long as ever we can.”

"I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God." Ecclesiastes 3:12-13

Due to technical difficulties, Community UMC is unable to have the March 19 worship service available for playback.

We would like to direct everyone to the Faith UMC (St. Anthony, MN) service from that day, as they talk about CUMC during their service.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVERYONE!



Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 19. Right after the church service we are going to have an All Church Birthday Celebration in the John Wesley room. We will have 4 birthday tables set up (3 months at each table) and we are asking you to sit at your birthday month table. There will be a birthday cake at each table and there may even be a few special surprises! So come in a party mood and join the fun celebration. Hope to see everyone on March 19!!

UPDATE: We are most likely going to have our Ash Wednesday service on March 1st. There are still some details to work out, but you can expect an update later in the week. Thanks!
