Eight years ago, I made this short video tutorial in support of discussion that Pastor Andrew and I had about the topic of studying the Bible in context. Yesterday, I made a comment about not allowing our church attendance to be a true measure of our depth in Christ. That comes from a daily commitment to his Word and the transformation that the Holy Spirit effects as we study it. TODAY, I wanted to share this video with you again, because what I do each and every week stems from this incredibly helpful and FREE resource. The Blue Letter Bible is an invaluable tool and if you have never heard of it or used it, I hope this inspires you to do so.

Frank mentioned Blue Letter Bible in one of the "Context" videos. I...

In 1 Chr. 29 we see a wonderful type of the Christian life. These verses are focused on giving, but I believe we can apply them to every aspect of Christian life. Vs. 9 says, ”Then the people rejoiced, for they had offered willingly, because with a loyal heart they had offered willingly to the Lord “ King David then offers a prayer to the Lord where he tells God that even this willingness to give is in effect, nothing, because ‘all things come from God and from Your things we have given to you’. And finally, David prays that the Lord would ‘fix (the people’s) heart toward Him’. So we see that everything we do as we walk with our Lord, if it is indeed done, of and for, the Lord, comes from a loyal, willing heart; never out of dread or compunction. And we do it, fully realizing that whatever we do or give, is only possible because the Lord has given us whatever we need to do the thing in the first place. And lastly, even the sincere desire to do the thing is fixed in our hearts BY the Lord. So His children have absolutely no launching point for even the slightest bit of pride and are forever grateful and rejoice in everything He does through us. Because in ALL things God gets the glory!! ~ Andrew

As we have said time and again, our political loyalties are to lie with the Savior of the World, Jesus Christ. His Kingdom is what we look forward to and we expect Him to establish it on His own time for His own glory. Until then, we will occupy and employ the means that we have to influence governmental actions by voting our conscience. As long as I Pastor Calvary Christian Fellowship, we will NOT endorse a candidate or recommend a position, save to call each member to vote their prayerfully, biblically saturated consciences.

With that in mind, I wholeheartedly recommend you watching this presentation on "Christian Nationalism," and see why it is that I also recommend rejecting it's tenets.

Christian Nationalism is one of the most talked-about movements in ...
