We spend so much of our lives chasing things that cannot follow us into eternity. Money, status, recognition, appearance, possessions, applause, all of it will eventually fade. At the end of our lives, none of us will stand before God carrying our achievements in our hands.
From dust we came, and to dust we shall return.
That truth is not meant to make us hopeless. It is meant to make us humble.
Every breath we have is a gift from God. Every blessing is mercy. Everything we own can disappear in a moment. The house stays. The money stays. The titles stay. Even our bodies return to the ground. We are reminded that we were never created to worship temporary things while neglecting eternal ones.
So what are we truly living for?
A platform cannot save your soul. Success cannot heal your heart. Pride cannot sustain you in eternity. Only Jesus can.
One day, the things this world told us to glorify will mean nothing, and the people who quietly walked with God will realize they invested in what actually lasts.
Stay humble when you succeed. Stay faithful when nobody notices. Be rich in love, generosity, obedience, and prayer. Because in the end, a surrendered life will always matter more than an impressive one.
“Lord, teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” 🤍🙏🏻
