“Then Jesus said to them, ‘The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.’” — Luke 6:5
Have you ever been technically right... and still gotten it completely wrong?
That’s what Jesus shows in Luke 6:1-10, when He collides with the Pharisees. He shows us that it’s possible to know the rules and still miss the heart behind them.
You can be technically right and truly wrong.
Truth without grace isn’t the win it feels like. Don’t let “I’m just being honest” become an excuse to skip loving the person in front of you.
What you’re looking for determines what you see.
The Pharisees were watching for a violation. Jesus was watching for a person to restore. Same room, same moment. Completely different eyes.
What are you conditioned to notice in others?
Jesus asks us to stretch out what we’d rather hide.
He didn’t ask the man to show his strong hand, He asked for the broken one.
Whatever you’re hiding, Jesus isn’t asking to shame you. He’s asking to heal you. Hiding and healing can’t happen in the same place.
So, what’s God asking you to stretch out today?
