Yesterday was such a blessing! The weather was perfect for Church In The Park.

It was so great to have everyone show up to sing, pray, learn, eat, and play together. We hope you were just as encouraged and uplifted as we were, and we are super excited about all the great things coming up this summer.

Keep sharing your photos and videos and tag us so we don’t miss them.

Remember the first Sunday of our temporary move to Mitchell High School is this weekend (June 14).

Service starts at 9:30am and there is plenty of parking + air-conditioning! Plan to stay and fellowship after service with popsicles and ice-cream sandwiches.

See you Sunday!

We are less than two days away from Church in the park!

Join us Sunday at 10:00am for a brief service and stay for fun in the sun! Bring a picnic lunch or grab something from one of our food trucks (Greek, Tacos, BBQ, and Ice Cream).

Don't forget to pack a water bottle or drinks. We will have a couple of water stations available for refills. There will be plenty of space so bring blankets, chairs, and pop-up tents for your family and friends.

The park fountain will not be open this year, but there will be plenty of games. Plus church swag for sale, and we will be commissioning the Royal Family Kids leaders before they leave for camp!

In this week's sermon centered on Acts 8, Pastor Stephanie explored the shift from exclusion to radical inclusivity within the Kingdom of God.

The gospel intentionally moves toward those who have been marginalized or overlooked, offering a new identity and an enduring name to all who seek it. The story of the Spirit-led encounter between Philip and the Ethiopian eu**ch serves as a reminder that God knows our individual stories and tensions, meeting us exactly where we are with a welcome that is relentlessly inclusive. As we follow and practice the way of Jesus, we are invited to mirror God's empathy by making room for others at an ever-expanding table where there is always a seat for one more.

How can we better model this "wide welcome" in our own daily interactions to ensure no one feels like they are standing on the outside?

This week we wrapped up the Easter season by celebrating the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church. We dove into the Book of Acts to explore the powerful, and sometimes perplexing, ways the Spirit moves, specifically looking at how the gospel spread to Samaria. While there are many ways to describe the Spirit's work—like comfort, sanctification, or guidance—one of the biggest themes we see is how the Spirit empowers every single believer for ministry and kingdom work.

We also talked about how the Spirit isn't a magic power for us to control or use for our own gain, as Simon the Magician mistakenly thought. Instead, the Spirit is the gracious presence of a person who gifts us in surprising, unmerited ways to build up the church and maintain our unity. Whether you’ve felt the Spirit's presence for years or you're just starting to wonder what it's all about, there is always an invitation to live with an open posture and ask for a greater awareness of God's power in your life.

How have you seen the Holy Spirit empower or surprise you in your own journey of faith?

This week in our "Kingdom Movement" series, Pastor Brock explored the life of Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit. Even when faced with false accusations and extreme opposition, Stephen chose to tell the truth about God.

Drawing from Stephen’s story in Acts 7, we find that God’s faithfulness is a creative, dynamic movement rather than a static repetition of the past. His presence is never confined to a single place or institution but moves freely with His people.

Stephen's legacy reminds us that even in our darkest moments of opposition, we can trust that Jesus stands as our ultimate advocate, interceding for us and empowering us to choose forgiveness over vengeance.

How have you seen God do a "new thing" in your life during a season when your back was against the wall?

This week's teaching focused on Acts 6, where the early church turned an administrative challenge into a powerful witness for unity and growth.

In Acts 6, Luke demonstrates how the early church leaders transformed an administrative challenge into a powerful witness by recognizing every act of service, from preaching to waiting tables, as a spirit-filled ministry essential for the common good. By elevating leaders from neglected groups, the church modeled unity in diversity and showed that our unique backgrounds are often exactly what qualify us to meet the needs around us. Ultimately, every task in our daily lives can be a spirit-led act of worship that pushes the kingdom of God forward.

How can you see your everyday work or daily routine as a spirit-filled act of service this week?

Join Pastor Jason and others for a three week membership course at The Commons (332 N Tejon Street). Our time together will include dinner, for all three weeks, and discussions around being a community of disciples formed in a common faith through a common life and for the common good.

By signing up, you are committing to these Monday evenings, from 6:00pm-8:00pm:
• April 27th
• May 4th
• May 11th

When Jesus calls us to follow him, we become inextricably joined to Him and to His people - the Church. To be a disciple of Jesus is to participate in the divine life of God and the common life of his people. In Jesus, we belong to one another. We are indispensable to one another. We are responsible for one another. Committing to a local church is a significant aspect of our discipleship to Jesus.

Baptism Sunday was incredible! It was such a blessing to gather together and celebrate all that God is doing in our community.

Easter happened so that just like Jesus we can be restored and made new. Moving from brokenness to life as Saints!

Christ is Risen! He is risen indeed.

Have you ever felt caught between your faith and the world around you?

This week's sermon explores how the early church navigated the intense pressure of following Jesus while living under a government that didn't always share their values.

As followers of Jesus, our first citizenship and ultimate loyalty belong to the kingdom of God, even when that requires choosing to obey God over human authority. True restoration and the renewal of all things come only through Jesus, and we are guided by the call to love others and seek the shalom of the city, our nation, and the world, especially for the most vulnerable.

How can we effectively love our neighbors through volunteering, our vocation, or civic involvement while anchoring our ultimate hope in a kingdom not of this world?
