Have you ever seen a raging creek?

What an amazing experience. The sound. The force. The peace that can come from standing beside something that could easily overpower you is beyond understanding.

But not every part of the stream moves the same. From a gentle trickle over the rocks that rest on the shore to the rushing water that flows through its deepest sections. There can be great variation in the intensity of the water.

Likewise, there is variation in how caught up we are in God's plan. Not everyone is swept away in God's ultimate plan; some are caught on the shore of their own life never getting to experience the power of reckless abandonment to God's leadership.

God doesn't always fit into the box we want him to.

How comforting is that? He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8) no matter how we try to conform him.

"O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure." Isaiah 25:1

Sometimes God doesn't make logical sense.

He moves in ways that go beyond our human comprehension and are aligned with his ultimate plan. But have you ever wondered why that doesn't look the way we think it should? What is wrong with the way we would like it to happen?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to speak to every situation and why some prayers seem to go unanswered and others see a miracle. But *spoiler alert* God has made us a promise that we can hold to no matter the situation we find ourselves in.

Who do you live your life for?

Do you live for the approval of others or to honor God? I'm sure we all want to say that we live to honor God, but the voices of those who are watching us can come across much louder.

While constructive criticism can be helpful, the opinions of others should not dictate how we live our lives. But how do we remember to honor God when those moments arise? One simple phrase can help, "God is my audience."

At some point, we will all be faced with the choice to perform for others or to make a choice to recognize God as our audience. Maybe you are facing this decision right now. It is easy to say that you will always choose God but can be a lot harder to walk out when the moment strikes.
