Freedom has never been free.

From the farmers who stood at Concord Bridge in 1775 to the brave men and women whose names are etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, generations of Americans have sacrificed to defend faith, family, and freedom.

As our nation celebrates 250 years of liberty, we remember those who gave everything so future generations could live free.

At the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, we remain committed to carrying forward the values that built this nation: faith in God, strong families, and ordered liberty grounded in truth.

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice helped preserve the freedoms we cherish—to live out our faith, raise our families according to biblical truth, and boldly proclaim the gospel to the next generation.

As we gather with loved ones today, may we pause with gratitude, pray for the families of the fallen, and never forget the cost of freedom. 🇺🇸

More than 100,000 Americans gathered on the National Mall for Rededicate 250—a powerful day of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving as our nation approaches its 250th anniversary. 🇺🇸

For the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, the moment carried special significance.

For decades, Dr. James Dobson and wife Shirley have boldly called America back to God, encouraging believers to pray, stand firm in truth, and remember the biblical foundation that shaped our nation.

This week’s Public Policy Update from Gary Bauer reflects on why gatherings like this matter in a time when faith, family, and freedom are increasingly under attack.

Today, we celebrate Armed Forces Day and honor the courageous men and women who serve in the United States military. Established in 1949 to show the unity of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, this day reminds us of the vital role these members play in safeguarding our freedoms.

🇺🇸 In a time when our nation feels divided, Americans from all 50 states will gather for one powerful purpose: prayer.

On May 17, thousands will come together on the National Mall for Rededicate 250—a historic day of worship, Scripture, testimony, and prayer ahead of America’s 250th birthday.

Together, we’ll remember God’s faithfulness through our nation’s history, celebrate the miracles still happening today and pray for a new birth of faith and freedom in the years ahead.

This is more than an event. It’s a national moment of gratitude, unity, and rededication as One Nation under God.

As part of Jewish American Heritage Month—designated in May by President Trump—and America’s 250th anniversary celebration May 17, families across the country are being encouraged to observe a National Sabbath this weekend ... a time for faith, gratitude, and rest.

At JDFI, we believe strong families are often shaped in simple, intentional moments together. Here are a few ways your family can participate:

📖 Read Scripture together.
🙏 Pray for our nation and future generations.
📵 Put away distractions and enjoy intentional family time.
🍞 Share a meal around the table.
✨ Reflect on God’s faithfulness.

Two hundred fifty years ago, America’s Founders pledged “their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor” in the cause of freedom. Today, a new generation faces an important question: Do we still have that kind of courage? Gary Bauer reflects on powerful words from Clarence Thomas and why courage, conviction and faith are still essential for preserving liberty for our children and grandchildren.

America will never heal by dividing people according to skin color.

In this timely article, Gary Bauer challenges the rhetoric, politics, and narratives that continue to fuel racial division—and calls Americans back to a better foundation: character, truth, and our shared identity as people made in the image of God.

As Christians, we are called to reject hatred, pursue reconciliation, and remember what matters most is not the color of our skin, but the condition of our hearts.
