Children's HopeChest develops highly relational, Community-to-Community partnerships between communities in North America and communities that have a high population of orphaned and vulnerable children overseas. When Bezawit joined Burayu CarePoint in third grade, she was a quiet student with average grades.

In high school, she faced deep loss, the death of her father and the absence of her mother, leaving her to care for her siblings while trying to stay in school.

Through the support of Burayu CarePoint and her extended family, she was able to continue her education and keep going when it mattered most.

She went on to excel academically, pass Ethiopia’s national exam, and graduate from university with a Bachelor of Laws degree.

Bezawit’s story is what happens when a child is not left alone in hardship, but surrounded by consistent care and opportunity.

Because of partnership, her future was changed. 🧡

A meaningful milestone at Bukedea CarePoint in Uganda!

This week marked the first harvest from the CarePoint’s mushroom-growing project, with 506 gardens currently in production 🍄‍🟫

The project is also equipping caregivers with new skills and opportunities for income generation, with the first 20 guardians now trained in mushroom cultivation.

Through initiatives like these, CarePoint communities are building pathways toward greater stability, dignity, and hope 🧡

Edlawit’s story is pretty sweet…literally! 🍪

Through the support of her CarePoint, Edlawit received years of holistic care, educational assistance, and life-skills training that helped shape her future. When it came time to choose a path, she followed her passion into vocational training in pastry preparation, where her dedication (and creativity) quickly stood out.

After completing her program, Edlawit was hired as a pastry instructor at the very same institute. And the sweetness doesn’t stop there; she now also earns income by selling her homemade cookies!

Because of partners like you, youth are gaining practical skills and using their gifts to create lasting change, one opportunity (and one batch of cookies) at a time.

Our CarePoints around the world are feeling the effects of rising global costs. And yet, even in the midst of instability, CarePoints are still operating! Because of your partnership, steady places of hope remain for vulnerable communities.

We’re so inspired by what’s happening at CarePoints across Uganda! 🥹

During a recent visit to Nyada CarePoint, we met a grandmother who received a pig through the CarePoint’s savings group. That single gift has now grown into 15 piglets, creating new opportunity and income for her family.

We were also honored to visit Rose, a mother of 10 and grandmother of 10. Through faithful saving and hard work, she built a brick home and is now able to provide more stability and support for her entire family.

These stories are just a snapshot of the transformation happening through community, dignity, and empowerment.

Carolina is a living example of HopeChest impact that comes full circle. 🔄

After being supported by Centro de Alcance Pinula CarePoint as a child, she now gives her time to serve the next generation through the Early Intervention program.

“I have always been grateful to the CarePoint, because ever since I was little, they have supported me and my family! Now I can give back a little of what they have given me.”
