As regular churchgoers, it’s tempting to think, “It’s just announcements. Let’s get it over with.” But those announcements keep us together as a church family—in Bible study, in prayer, and in our walks of faith. They don’t have to be dry, sterile, or meaningless; they help us serve Christ better together!

Yesterday, our friend Dusty was baptized by faith into Christ to receive salvation! Only a few were there in person, but the joy was surely felt beyond just us — there is great joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents!

They (and their new son-in-law; not pictured here) embody the gentleness and spirituality that ought to characterize every Christian family. As a church, we’re always in the process of saying goodbye to some and “Welcome!” to others. We thank God for EVERYONE whom he brings our way, and we pray that—whether they are her short-term or for the long haul—we bless them as he blesses us!

This morning, we got to witness Avery being baptized into Christ for forgiveness of her sins! What a blessing to see a soul’s resurrection to new life on the day that marks the Lord’s resurrection!
