David had another opportunity to take Saul’s life, yet he chose not to. Instead, he trusted God to be his defender.

1 Samuel 26:10 – David said furthermore, “As the Lord lives, the Lord shall strike him, or his day shall come to die, or he shall go out to battle and perish.”

Sometimes we will have opportunities to take matters into our own hands or force an outcome that God has not brought about yet. But like David, we can trust God with the outcome, knowing that He will take care of us and fight for us.
What do you need to surrender to God today?

I Samuel‬ ‭25‬:‭33‬ - “And blessed is your advice and blessed are you, because you have kept me this day from coming to bloodshed and from avenging myself with my own hand.”
‭‭
We are blessed when we are willing to stand in the gap and help keep others from bringing harm and taking vengeance in their own hands.

Abigail was a very wise woman who recognized the danger of David acting out of anger. She courageously pleaded with him to surrender his desire for vengeance and trust God to handle the situation. There are times when wisdom means having the courage to lovingly speak the truth into someone’s life and help them choose a better response.

Be willing to stand in the gap and counsel others not to take vengeance in their own hands, but to surrender it to the Lord.

Everyone needs a Jonathan, someone to encourage us in the Lord when we are down. Who needs you today to be like Jonathan? Find someone who needs to be encouraged and strengthen them in the Lord.

You cannot be a lone wolf Christian and walk in the full purpose God has for your life

God built us to be connected, committed, and doing faith together. Watching from home when you are fully capable of showing up is missing out on the power of community. It is time to step out and get connected.

When everything around you is uncertain, God often uses faithful people to remind you that you are not alone.

1 Samuel 20:42 – “Go in peace, since we have both sworn in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘May the Lord be between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants, forever.’”

This is why getting connected in the body of Christ is so important. You were not made to go through this life alone!

We weren’t meant to walk through life alone—we need community

Whether it's offering a word of encouragement to lift someone up or having trusted friends who can point out our blind spots (and keep us humble!), community is essential. Your words hold power—you never know how much a simple word of hope can impact someone who feels down or defeated. Surround yourself with people who walk with you in truth and love!

1 Samuel 18:14-15 – “And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the Lord was with him. Therefore, when Saul saw that he behaved very wisely, he was afraid of him.”

David’s success wasn’t simply because he was talented, strong, or capable. The Lord was with him.

It’s not by might. It’s not by power. But by Your Spirit, Lord!
