This is not the announcement we wanted to make.

Due to extreme fire danger, critically dry vegetation, and multiple large wildfires burning across Colorado, all permitted Independence Day fireworks displays in Colorado Springs have been canceled.

This decision was made after careful evaluation by Mayor Yemi Mobolade, the Colorado Springs Fire Department, the Colorado Springs Police Department, and our public safety partners. Current fuel moisture levels in Colorado Springs are comparable to those recorded before the Waldo Canyon Fire, creating an extreme wildfire risk for our community.

We know this is disappointing, especially as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States and Colorado's 150th birthday. We share that disappointment. But protecting our community, our firefighters, and our first responders has to come first.

Our hope is to celebrate together when conditions are safe to do so.

Thank you to our community and to our partners, including Sports Corp, for understanding and supporting this decision. Your commitment to keeping Colorado Springs safe means everything.

Our 5th Sunday lunch with our neighbors experiencing homelessness was once again a blessing.

It was a beautiful day to share lunch and to share God’s love and kindness with 120 neighbors-Praise God! 🙏🏽💚

Gracious and loving God,

We thank You for this food and for every hand that prepared, provided, and served it. Bless this meal and let it be a reminder to all who receive it that they are seen, valued, and loved.

For those experiencing homelessness, we pray for comfort in difficult times, strength for the journey ahead, and hope that does not fade. May this food nourish their bodies, and may Your presence encourage their hearts.

Bless those who serve and those who are served, reminding us that we are all Your children, worthy of dignity, compassion, and care.

In Your holy name we pray,

Free summer meal programs at locale schools and community centers. Some locations might require you to eat the meal on sight.

The summer season is here, but that doesn’t mean the free meals students enjoyed during the school year are ending. Starting Wednesday, Coloradans 18 years or younger will have access to participating sites serving breakfast and/or lunch at no cost, Monday through Friday, during the summer months....

Holy Week is more than a tradition—it’s a journey.

From the celebration of Palm Sunday to the sorrow of Good Friday, and finally the victory of Resurrection Sunday, we are reminded of the depth of God’s love for us.

Take time this week to pause, reflect, and remember:
Jesus didn’t just go through it… He did it for you.

We don’t truly understand how blessed we are in America. As Christians we are to feed the poor and help people who are in need. Feeding the needy is part of serving one another and as we serve others we are serving Christ. 🙏🏽

Ebenezer Baptist Church did our 5th Sunday Outreach with our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Thankful to serve lunch consisting of fried chicken, potato salad, green beans, a roll, cookies, water/soda to almost 90 people. We also had some donations of clothing, shoes, jackets and Sunday School books.

The best part for us is the time spent talking to, laughing with and praying for neighbors as well as being prayed for by them. Presence of God was right there in middle of this event. 🥰🙏🏽

What a blessed time we had and we thank God for the opportunity.
