The scope of the ministry is primarily limited to the 10 million Iranian and Afghan refugees and immigrants living outside their countries. ICI was established in 1980 following the establishment of the Islamic government in Iran. It was incorporated as a nonprofit tax exempt charitable organization in the U.S. It has operated as an indigenous Christian mission organization. ICI has held over 80 regional and international conferences, a few of them for training Christian leaders. ICI has also organized Iranian/ Muslim awarenes and training in Iranian/Muslim evangelism seminars. ICI has published and/or distributed tens of thousands Christian books, magazines and other Christian literature in Persian, Dari, English, and other languages. During its close to 40 years of history ICI has assisted over 2,000 persecuted Iranian and Afghan Christians with their immigration to safe countries.
