Our church held a graduation Sunday service for our graduates. Pastor Michael Petillo had an edifying and instructional message for our graduates from Judges 1:11-15 titled, “You Got the House, But Where’s the Water?”.

The message centers on the story where Caleb gives his daughter Acsah land and, upon her request, springs of water. This passage is used as a metaphor for graduates embarking on new chapters in life—reminding them that material gifts and opportunities (like land, careers, relationships) are valuable, but true fulfillment comes from spiritual nourishment, symbolized by the springs of water.

Acsah’s request for springs highlights the importance of seeking God’s presence and the Holy Spirit as the foundation for a flourishing life. The message warns that worldly achievements alone cannot bring lasting peace or joy.

Graduates are called to seek God’s presence, stay rooted in scripture, and remain connected to spiritual community. The promise is that, even when life feels like a desert, God can transform it into “pools of living water” through His grace.

As we celebrated our mothers and all the mothers around the globe, Pastor Billy Coker gave an encouraging Mother’s Day Message from Ruth 1:6-18 titled, “Clinging to a Mother’s Love”.

The sermon explores the story of Naomi and Ruth from the Book of Ruth, focusing on the profound impact of a mother’s love, the struggles of “mom guilt,” and the spiritual journey of finding security as a daughter of Christ before finding success as a mother.

Pastor Billy connects Naomi’s story to broader biblical themes, showing how God comforts His people with the tenderness of a mother. Examples include Isaiah 66:12-13 and Jesus’ compassion for Jerusalem (Matthew 23:37), illustrating God’s nurturing and comforting nature.

In essence, the sermons is a heartfelt exploration of motherhood, faith, and redemption, offering encouragement to mothers to find their worth and strength in their relationship with God, and highlighting the enduring spiritual impact of a mother’s love.

What a blessed time we had last Sunday being ministered to by two guests - worship leader Isaac Charbonneau of Summit Int. School of Ministry and Pastor David Ham of SoulCry Church in NYC. Pastor David preached out of Luke 14:7-10 titled, “No More Excuses, Let’s Fill The House.”

The kingdom posture is humility; not striving for position but rather surrendering to God’s purpose. If we are to ever fill the house of God, we ought to think of others as better than yourselves. You can’t fill the house if you are fighting for the head seat.

Kingdom hospitality doesn’t calculate return. The blessing is to simply do what Jesus is asking of us. If our tables only include people who look like us, think like us or can do something for us, we’re not reflecting the Kingdom.

The table of promise is not earned by your performance. It’s prepared by his promise.
The table of promise if where broken are healed. Grace gives us both a seat at the table and a charge to fill it.
