CELEBRATION MULTICULTURAL ENSEMBLE (CME)

The Celebration Multi Cultural Ensemble is an exciting choral group founded by Peggy Shivers as an extension of the Shivers Fund at Pikes Peak library District. The goal of CME is to preserve the rich history and heritage of the negro spiritual through education and performance and to create a musical experience that includes representation from the diver

se cultures in the Colorado Springs community regardless of their religious beliefs, political preference, ethnic background, gender, age or sexual orientation. The group was nominated in the “Best Small Group Performance” category for the prestigious Pikes Peak Arts Council’s annual awards ceremony. Their presentation of James Weldon Johnson’s “God’s trombones” has received high acclaim.
