Hello! Just a reminder that next Sunday, October 30, 2022 there won't be any children's ministry for all ages. We will all be having communion. ⛪
We will have tables for families with children. If families would like to bring something quiet for their children, that is fine. We will have some items for the children as well. 💙

Did you know you could dye pumpkin seeds? I didnt until I tried either this afternoon and they came out flawlessly!
Come visit us this Sunday for Pumpkin Seed Mosaics where the kiddos in preschool will make beautiful works of art with pumpkin seeds!

Saying goodbye to a friend we love who is moving away is hard, but we will always charish those memories and who knows! We might see each other again. God is full of surprises. We'll miss you Brexley! But know God has wonderful things planned for you. 💜

Hello Everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself and my husband, Chris, to those who dont really know us. We are the new directors for young children ministries at the Springs Journey Church. We've been together for over 10 years now, and have 2 boys. Family is very important to the both of us, and we thrive to pour love into all the babies and children that walk into our doors.
Chris is a hystolgist tech at the hospital and I'm a Baker, and I co-run a cafe at an archery range. While we have been serving in the preschool for quite some time now, probably about 3 years, we are both new to directing it so please pray for us and give us grace as we start.
If you're interested in serving in the nursery or preschool, we would love to have you. So, if you have any questions, dont hesitate to message me!
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Oh, Friends, this is so good! Failures have made us who we are; let your kids have the same invaluable opportunity to fail AND GROW.

Your kid spills an entire container of glitter on the floor, resulting in a lifetime of cleanup. Or, your kid posts something on social media that can’t be unsaid, resulting in a different type of cleanup. Your kids’ mistakes seem uniquely designed to test your patience and your sanity.

Before you blow up and say something you have to apologize for later, repeat after us: “Mistakes help my kids learn.”

Think about your life. You probably learned a lot from moments where you messed up. The same goes for your kids — they’ll learn a lot from moments that don’t go well. But it’s up to us as their biggest influences to raise confident kids who will grow up learning to see their mistakes as opportunities to learn and grow from.

Why do we often feel the need to downplay and neutralize compliments about our children?

Our responses usually come from a sincere — or often uncomfortable — place. But regardless of whether or not we can accept compliments without making it weird, we must stop the downplay…for the sake of our children! Our words matter. Not just the words we say to our children, but the ones we say about them.

Words have an incredibly powerful impact coming from parents — a direct impact on how they perceive themselves. Their brains hear what you say and respond by believing they are unaccepted, unloved or unwanted. Or they hear what you say and respond by believing they are accepted, loved and wanted.

So instead of neutralizing the compliments of our children, let’s start adding to those positive words.
