Mount Pleasant Church

Mount Pleasant Church Our church came into being circa 1740. The date on the first deed is July 10, 1840, but we are pretty sure Methodists were active in the area before that.

It was first called Mount Pleasant Methodist Episcopal Church. Built on a rich heritage, Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church is located at 1713 Liberty Grove Road, Colora, Cecil County, Maryland. Our membership draws together a diverse community of all ages comprised of families, students, singles and seniors. Everyone is welcome to worship with us. We gather for worship at 10:00 am on Sundays

and our worship style is informal – come as you are – that is the way Jesus loves you and so will we. If you want more information about various events and programs in our church please contact our church office. We welcome people of all backgrounds and we invite you to join us and become part of our warm, friendly and caring community of faith. As a community we are focused on spiritual, educational, charitable and social programs; we embrace Christian values and beliefs and transmit these from generation to generation.

Today is Ash Wednesday. TONIGHT, our church will be OPEN from 6:30-8pm for prayer, Holy Communion, ashes if desired and prayer for healing. It is an open house, come and go with no formal service. Come and spend time with God.

Mt. Pleasant Church in Colora, MD, is hiring a Nursery Worker. The position is shared with another Nursery Worker. Therefore, the schedule is one month of Sunday mornings working and one month off with July and August off. This is for Sunday mornings, 9:40 to 11:10am and the compensation is $50 per Sunday morning.

TONIGHT, Monday, September 22, from 6:30-7:30pm, the fall Bible Study kicks off at Mt. Pleasant Church, 1713 Liberty Grove Rd, in nearby Colora, MD. David Burke, the pastor will be teaching the 7 Churches in the book of Revelation and how they relate to today's world. Patrick Jones from Northeast, MD will lead on guitar with some classic hymns and praise and worship songs. Join us as everyone is invited to attend.
