What a special Sunday morning at Wesley UMC! We combined our three services into one for Pastor Terry Clark's final full message to the congregation before he retires with more than 35 years of pastoral service. But first, we celebrated a member's 96th birthday, heard wonderful music from the Adult Choir, a Seekers of Grace trio, and Tim Moore, were amused by the children, and heard Pastor Terry give “A Grateful Farewell.” Please click through the photos and videos for more details. Don't forget to turn in your Baby Bottle Blessings donations by Sunday, June 21 (Father's Day). The money goes to the Pregnancy Support Center of the Tri-Cities, Inc., which is "committed to providing compassionate care to women unprepared for pregnancy by offering education, resources, and practical help."

Wildlife lover Pastor Terri captured this image of the rare Robertus Hodgenian in its colorful summer work camp plumage on Sunday. Compare it to the bird's normal camouflage, which allows it to blend into the background while quietly keeping things running smoothly at Wesley and in the community.

Wesley UMC knows how to throw a party! This afternoon we thanked Pastors Terry Clark and Terri Swindell (aka the Dynamite Duo of "TnT") for three years of outstanding service during which our church seemed rejuvenated. We hope you enjoy these images and the special song and presentation videos near the end. Thank you to Anne K. Taylor for her photographic contribution and to everyone who attended, performed, shopped, brought dessert, set up, served, or cleaned up (especially the Soul Sisters, their spouses, and the Christian Adventurers). Scenes from today's busy 9 a.m. service, including a Children's Message about how Jesus keeps us afloat in life and Pastor Terry's request to "Remember What Matters Most." Pastor Terri gave her special helper Shannon a beautiful angel figurine. We also observed Holy Communion this morning. Kelly Rainey read the Scripture Lesson and "Voice of the Spirit" led us in several songs. We also were treated with a special performance by the Angel Choir, which you can see in a separate post.
