A little history...
Cotton farmer John McKinney donated the land for the organization of Bethany Baptist Church in 1861. Originally, Bethany was a two story building built by the Woodsmen of the World (who met upstairs). A school was held on the ground floor. It was also the meeting place for the worship services of the church. Later in the 40’s the upper floor was taken away and the building remodeled. Services have been held continuously at Bethany for 159 years. Bro. Larry Trest is currently the pastor.
