What kind of life should I live? What kind of person should I be? How do I even know what’s the right way to walk?

So glad you asked! 😉

God’s Word has ALL the answers for how we should live. He lets us know what is right and what is wrong. He also gave us Jesus- the best example we could find to look at what it means to walk worthy of the calling He has given us.

Wanna know how to have integrity? Read through the Proverbs. Wanna know what it means to have humility? Look at Jesus. Watch what He did and how He cared for people- ALL people, even the ones who would be considered “least”. Struggling with self control? Look at the verses that speak about it- How it happens, what it isn’t, what precedes it. It’s a fruit of the Spirit which means it won’t come by any self effort of your own! What about becoming a gentle and compassionate person? In a world that screams ME FIRST, how do we genuinely show compassion towards others? How do we notice others’ needs? What should our proper response be when encountering people? The glue that holds everything together is love. It is by our LOVE toward brothers and sisters that we show the world who we belong to. It is by our LOVE that we model Christ. It is by our LOVE that we can hope to impact people with the Gospel. It is by our LOVE that we work together as a body under Christ. Staying connected to the Vine, keeping our eyes fixed on Him to let Him change our hearts and produce the character that He wants from us.

Character matters. Our walk matters. But it won’t happen automatically. Your walk comes OUT OF your identity. Study who you are IN Jesus, learn of HIM, and ask Him to produce that life in you. Before you walk, you must know how to sit. And guess where God says you are seated? In HIM!!! In the heavenlies.

As you learn who you are, ask Him to give you love for others. Ask Him to open opportunities of displaying gentleness and compassion. His passion is for you to look like His Son and He will use every opportunity and chance to do that in your life- sometimes even in suffering, sometimes in the least likely mode of producing that character quality. Trust Him as He works on your heart.

We love Jesus. Yes and amen!! When we love Him, He changes our ❤️. He begins to help us see HIS heart. What is that?

It’s people!!

God’s heart is people. It’s why He came in the person of Jesus to make a way back to Himself. He wants people and longs for them to be with them. And He lets us be a part of His heart in that way. He gives us the call to love as He did. Every day, we can pray “give me an opportunity to love like you loved. Help me to impact someone else with the love that Jesus fills me with.”

Choose Jesus. Choose love. Watch what God does to your ❤️.

Look at the seasons and years that God has been faithful. He’s been good. He’s helped us walk through ministry and outreach for over 130 years. Enjoy looking at these old photos and let’s make it our heart’s cry that we continue to be found faithful till we die or He comes back!

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16

God uses the Word to change our thinking. He uses it to pierce our hearts because it’s ALIVE. He allows the Word to keep us from sinning. So keep coming back to it, as a deer has to run back to the water over and over again. Spend your time reading and studying and grappling with what it says. Let God’s Word change your life so that you may be equipped for all the good works He has for you to do.
