Dear friends of Navajo Missions,

We received a text from Kathy, a sister in Christ on the Reservation. Katherine Smith of the Cornfields Church and Steamboat Community, passed away Sunday 4/20/2025. She had pneumonia and was hospitalized in Albuquerque. Please join us in praying for the Cornfields Church and Katherine’s family.

Needed donations would be welcomed to help her family with funeral expenses. I am communicating with Kathy on how we can contribute.

Friends of Navajo Missions. We were notified yesterday that Dave Cardot, our good friend and fellow short term missionary, passed into Glory yesterday. Dave joined us with the Central Church Collierville, Tennessee team. He was much loved. He faithfully served as a summer missionary ‘against all odds’ health wise. We celebrate his life and picture heaven and the “well done my good and faithful servant” he received as he passed over into eternity with his Savior!

Dear friends of Navajo Missions,

On September 7, 2018 we posted about an issue with the ministry’s tax exempt status. God has shown favor and we have been granted tax exemption status retroactive to 2010. We are thankful.

Gene Kennedy continues to stay in touch with Navajo friends and reach out to them in friendship and love by providing Daily Bread devotionals and regular personal communication by phone, text and social media. Others in the ministry maintain relationships also. At this time visits to the Reservation are not an option as they are under stringent restriction due to Covid-19.

Years of travel there have brought many
people’s lives together in brotherly and sisterly love. If you have ever communicated with our Navajo friends please remember now and reach out to them. They need to know we still care. Just today in conversation with one sister, she mentioned she used to speak to people from the Navajo Missions ministry from time to time but has not in a long time. She was alone today on Christmas Day.

Gene Kennedy is in leadership of the board of directors now. Keith Stubblefield is on the board. There are no plans for trips at this point or in the immediate future. God has us in his hand and we will follow his direction related to future ministry efforts.

Receiving our tax exempt status makes it possible now to receive monetary donations to the ministry to be used however God leads. If you choose to donate, checks should be made payable and mailed as follows:

Navajo Missions Inc.
PO Box 1173
Collierville, TN 38027

We will stay in touch with future ministry developments.

Blessings!

Look! For those of you who traveled with us to the Rez in years past you may remember we would stop in Grants, NM for our last Wal-Mart supplies and then eat at First Street Cafe. It was always such a warm welcome by the owner who would keep the restaurant open for us and the food was delicious. When Keith went through in October 2018 on the way to the Rez for a firewood trip there was a business closed sign on the door and it was so sad even though the owner had told us on an earlier trip it was going to happen soon. So today in the car on a long road trip I started thinking about those days and the particular memory of First Street Cafe. I googled the address and found that another restaurant opened in that location shortly after they closed. I’ve attached the link. Who knows? Maybe we’ll visit there again some day! Kim Stubblefield
