Research Work Presented at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Annual Meeting (Dec. 11-15, 2023)

Anjan Sapkota (MSc in Computer Science student), Dr. Harvey Alférez, and Dr. Art Chadwick presented a poster about their research work entitled Visualizing Paleocurrents in a Web Application using GPlates. More than 26,000 attendees participated in this international scientific event at San Francisco, CA!

This research work is sponsored by the Faith and Science Council of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

A Southern alum (Kevin Christenson ’16) has produced a movie about the founding of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Supported in part by The Hope Channel and directed by Emmy-award winner, Kyle Portbury, The Hopeful will have a private screening here in Chattanooga next week, August 17 at 7 p.m.
