Dear Beautiful Savior Church Family & Friends,
If the people in your life are anything like the people in my life, then hardly a day goes by when you don’t hear about someone else who just tested positive for COVID. The virus is still making a mess of things. But, it seems that this latest variant doesn’t pack as hard of a punch. For that, I am thankful. And, please join me in praying that this variant would be God’s way of letting the virus “burn out” and come to an end. My heart is eager to get back to a full slate of activity at church and that we would have an environment where everyone is comfortable meeting together in large groups again. It is good for the soul. “I rejoiced with those who said, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’” (Psalm 122:1)

4. Notes & Announcements…
* Update on Sofia Brown she has been diagnosed with viral meningitis. We are thankful that the doctors have arrived at an answer, but now we pray for strength and patience as she has several weeks (or more) of recovery ahead of her. May God continue to fill everyone in the family with his peace and grace.
*Earl & Luanne Schultz are both on the mend after their journey with COVID. We give thanks to God for this gift of health and healing. Several other members have also recovered or are recovering from COVID having suffered only mild symptoms. May God’s grace continue! (Note: If you are interested in ordering free at-home COVID tests, you can check out www.COVIDtests.gov.)
* The Church Council met last week on Zoom. We had hoped to schedule a congregational meeting to report on the activity of the past year and our plans for the coming year. That meeting is postponed for the time being, but we plan to produce a written report that can be sent out in the meantime.
* The annual GROW Conference is an event hosted by Beautiful Savior’s sister churches in and around Texas. It takes place at Abiding Word Lutheran Church in Houston on February 3-4. Day 1 features a keynote speaker, and Day 2 offers a selection of workshops. For more information go to www.GROWconference.org.
* Thanks to the help of some of our college students, we were able to pack up the last of the Christmas decorations. The church looks a little empty, but marking the progress feels good. Thank you for such a great holiday season that kept Jesus at the center of it all.
5. COVID GUIDELINES. We ask that everyone to take the following precautions into account whenever we have the opportunity to gather at church.
…Please consider wearing a mask.
…Please wash your hands often, or use hand sanitizer.
…Please stay home if you are sick, or feel sick.
We are forgiven!
