We’re continuing our intern spotlight series with Haydn, who has been serving in our youth ministry this past year.

“Howdy! My name is Haydn Emery. I’m from Irving, TX, and I’m a senior Finance major at Texas A&M. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to serve in the Youth Ministry, where I help build meaningful relationships with students and walk alongside them in their faith. Serving in Youth has been a huge blessing in my life! It has not only strengthened my own faith and discipline in my walk with Christ, but it has also allowed me to be an example to these students—showing them that college isn’t a time to put your faith on pause, but a time to seek the Lord and serve God by serving others.

One of my favorite things about serving in Youth is Sunday nights at Intersection, where students bring a verse from the Bible and share how it relates to their lives or the world around us. Every week, I learn something new from these students, and it is so encouraging to see their passion for the Lord. They’re an awesome group who have welcomed me with open arms and I am super grateful for that, and I look forward to continuing to serve with them!”

We’re grateful for Haydn’s consistency, the relationships he’s built, and the way he shows up for our students each week.

We’re continuing our intern spotlight series with Joseph, who has served in our youth ministry over the past two years.

Meet Joseph Knox!

“My name is Joe Knox. I graduated from Texas A&M with an engineering degree in December ’25. It has been one of the biggest blessings in my life to be part of the youth group and pour into younger students over the past two years. I’ve been blessed to serve in almost every capacity within the youth group, and while all of it has been fulfilling, my favorite by far has been leading small groups of guys (discipleship groups) each week.

I’ve discovered that I experience true joy in making a meal, opening the door, and watching the Spirit work through every single one of our students.

Over the past two years, I’ve learned a lot, but the biggest lesson has been this: giving up control, surrendering, using the gifts God has given me, and leaning on the Spirit.

I thank God every day for the random opportunity to become youth intern 2 summers ago, and I look forward to continue building amazing relationships and serving with some amazing people.”

We’re grateful for Joseph’s willingness to show up consistently, lead faithfully, and invest in our students in meaningful ways.

We are so excited to begin introducing the college students who serve so faithfully in our children’s and youth ministries. These interns pour their time, energy, and hearts into the next generation — and we are so grateful for the ways the Lord uses them to make an eternal impact.

First up, meet our Children’s Ministry Intern, Tori.

“My name is Tori Grant, and I am a senior Public Health major from Frisco, Texas. For the past two years, I have had the privilege of serving as the Children’s Ministry intern, a role I have absolutely loved! Through this opportunity, I have witnessed children develop a genuine curiosity about Christ and begin to understand just how deeply loved they are by Him.

The families at A&M Church of Christ are loving, joyful, and encouraging, exemplifying what it means to be a servant of Christ in all that they do. I am so grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside their children as they grow in their faith. It has truly been such a blessing to pour back into a church that has invested so much in me, and I am thankful for the ways the Lord has used this experience to deepen my faith and grow my heart for ministry!”

We are beyond thankful for Tori and the steady, joyful leadership she brings to our children each week. Be sure to show her some love when you see her around church!

This past week, our church family gathered for an intentional and meaningful night set aside for prayer—seeking the Lord together, sharing burdens, and encouraging one another. We are so grateful for a community that believes in the power of prayer!

Our AFC winter mission trips are off to Chiang Mai, Thailand and Neema Village in Arusha, Tanzania for the next two weeks! Please join us in praying over their safety and their time furthering the gospel and loving on the people there. We are so excited for the way the Lord will use them and reveal himself to them over the next few weeks.

What a meaningful evening celebrating the Christmas season and the birth of Christ at our Breakthrough Christmas pageant this past Sunday! We are so thankful for our children and volunteers who joyfully shared their talents with our church family.
