As we start cleaning out our closets and attics there might be some items that we are ready to give to a better home. On “Just Serve” there are options for donations for vision glasses, walkers, books, running shoes, and men’s and women’s business attire and much more . Check out just serve if you have items you are looking to re-home.

On our Capital Day visit, High Point Stake President Andrew Sweat and Stake Media Specialist Maurine Allen were able to meet with several NC leaders and discuss how our members in the High Point Stake can better serve our communities. These legislators included Republican Joint Caucus Leader Senator Carl Ford, Senator Michael Garret, House Member Harry Warren, and Senior appropriations advisor for Representative Donny Lambeth, Wesley Winn.

Legislators shared their hopes for our community including the need for different Christian church congregations to come together in unity, and focus more on our beliefs in common than what divides us. Multiple leaders saw the need for helping our communities learn self-reliance skills, and another Legislator discussed the need for increased efforts to help our immigrant population. We hope to continue to build these relationships with our NC State Legislators, and are so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet them.
