Listening to the voices. What voices do we listen to; fear, doubt, anger, arrogance, other people? Judges 6:11-18 is an example of a man named Gideon doing just that. He was called by God to deliver the Israelites from the hands of Midian. Gideon needed reassurance (a sign) at least four times from the Lord. The pivot of the dialog is verse 14. "Go in the strength you have, am I not sending you? (NIV)" God has a plan laid out. God does not need perfection, what God needs is those who are faithful and willing to listen and follow. What voices do each of us listen to? Instead of us listening to all of the reasons we cannot, either from ourselves or others, let us listen to the voice of God who loves us and wants the best for us.
