This is the information regarding the Ruby May Thompson funeral for tomorrow. It is with great joy and mixed sorrow of her passing into eternity. Joy that she is experiencing the joys of Heaven, sorrow that she had to go. She will be surly missed but for only a moment!
Ruby Thompson
March 14, 1939 ā July 26, 2025
Ruby Thompson, age 86, of Freedom, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, surrounded
by her loved ones.
Born on March 14, 1939, in Coldwater, Kansas, Ruby was the daughter of John and Florence (Hoffman)
Bliss. On November 1, 1957, she married Floyd Thompson.
Ruby spent the last 15 years of her career at Walmart before retiring. Her work was a reflection of her
steady spirit and love for connecting with people. Ruby found joy in tending to her flowers, creativity in
her quilting, and solace in a good book. Her hands were rarely idle, and her home was always a place of
warmth, welcome, and love. Ruby loved having her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren
visit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Loretta Stone, and her beloved husband, Floyd
Thompson.
Ruby is survived by her two daughters, Tammy Smith of Midwest City, OK, and Rhonda Little of
Sedgwick, KS; her two brothers, J.L. Bliss (Johnnie) of Dalhart, TX, and Richard Dean Bliss of Columbus,
NE; and eight grandchildren: Jonathon Smith (Jessica), Meghan Snell (Thomas), Kaleb Smith (Sidney),
Jareb Smith (Camila), Katelyn Prescott (Ethan), Dariah Ballinger (Aron Schroeder), Jamie Burton (Tim),
and Stephanie Nutter (Chris). She was also blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren: Savannah Smith,
Aedan Smith, Rian Smith, Fiona Smith, Asher Snell, Jake Snell, Bennett Snell, Harlan Ballinger, Hazel
Schroeder, Noah Little, Abbott Burton, Bentley Burton, Dawson Little, and Addy Nutter.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, steady presence, and deep appreciation for life of love and simple
pleasures. Her legacy of love, patience, and quiet strength lives on in the hearts of her children,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 30th at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home in Coldwater,
Kansas.
Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, july 31, 2025, also at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, with Pastor
Jeff Perry officiating.
Graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Freedom Cemetery in Freedom, Oklahoma.
