Located near the heart of Coldwater, MS in north central Mississippi, Coldwater United Methodist Church has been a continuous presence for the glory of God in this community for over 165 years. as the United Methodist Church does: Open hearts, open minds, open doors. Coldwater UMC received its first appointed pastor in 1836. It was the first church to be founded in the old town of Coldwater, MS, and the church building was constructed in 1866. After the completion of the Arkabutla Dam in 1942, the building—and the whole town of Coldwater—were relocated because of the flooding. Our people have seen times of joy and celebration, and our church has been there for them in times of struggle and difficulty. Through all of these times the people of Coldwater UMC have served Jesus Christ by striving to live as His disciples in the community and the world.
