How are you giving thanks today?

"Now Thank We All Our God", number 102 in The United Methodist Hymnal, invites us to consider what we have received from God, and how we might proclaim our gratitude. Surprisingly, the words for the hymn were written amidst struggle and want, as Martin Rinckart and his family were refugees during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648).

with heart and hands and voices,
who wondrous things has done,
in whom this world rejoices;
who from our mothers’ arms
has blessed us on our way
with countless gifts of love,
and still is ours today." 🎹

📖 Matthew 16:13-16
Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" And they said, "Some say John the Baptist but others Elijah and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."
