Frederick “Fred” Taylor and Imogene Gill were married on March 18th, 1891, and made their home in Hoosick New York. Their marriage endured for nearly 4 decades. Together they raised two children, Floyd and Helen, after the loss of a third child in infancy. Over the years, Fred worked a variety of jobs. In 1900, he was employed as an army janitor, later serving as an armorer, and eventually working as a molder in a local machine shop and iron foundry. Census records show the family living together in Hoosick and Hoosick Falls as Floyd and Helen grew from young children into adults. By 1925, Floyd and Helen had left the family home, leaving Fred and Imogene as an empty nest couple. Even then, they remained in the Hoosick community where they had spent most of their married life. The 1930 census still finds them together, a testament to a long marriage that weathered loss, hard work, and changing times while remaining rooted in Rensselaer County, New York.
Frederick Taylor was born in June 1868 and passed away December 4th 1930. His final resting place is Maple Grove Old Cemetery Hoosick Falls NY.
