The seed, as the Word of God, is always perfect - never without viability or effect. What determines the seed's ability to root, grow, and ultimately produce fruit is the condition of the soil it lands on.

Some soil's too trafficked and packed, some soil's too rocky to root, and some soil's too full of weeds and thorns. Other soil is fertile, though, ready to receive and supplied with the right nutrients for optimum growth.

What's the soil of the heart like for you? How effective will the Word of God be to take root, grow and produce fruit in your life today?

Come, join us this Sunday as we celebrate Father's Day!

It's not every day we recognize the hard working, committed fathers that dedicate themselves to their families and children - teaching them to exercise the right kind of strength and influence in the world around them, helping them to see the importance of putting faith and family above fame and fortune and showing them how to stand firm upon truth and dignity.

In a world that largely misunderstands the importance of a father's role, value and contribution to a family's health and well-being, we stop to honor those doing all they can to raise the next generation right in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Parents are given the awesome responsibility of raising the next generation!

Part of that responsibility includes helping children recognize and develop their talents, become critical thinkers, understand the nature of caring for others more than themselves, and learning to be positive, productive contributors to society. The other part of that responsibility includes helping children properly navigate and overcome the challenges of life.

Fathers play an important role in the raising of their children. Scripturally, they're responsible for bringing them up in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Eph 6:4). This is a far cry from turning them over to themselves to rely on their significant lack of wisdom and experience at early ages to grasp all there is to know about the world, themselves and others; what's morally right and what's morally wrong; what's absolute truth and what's theory and "best guess;" and what it means to genuinely love others and see past their faults to who they really are.

Fathers that live up to the challenge and dedicate themselves to raising the next generation right are to be honored!
