Nativity-Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church The Nativity of the Virgin Mary (“Panagia”) Greek Orthodox Church is located at 811-819 Jerusalem Rd. The church, erected by his parents Colonel and Mrs.

The original structure was The Pope Memorial Church and was built in 1900 as a memorial to Charles Linder Pope (November 15, 1881 - April 21, 1898). He died as a result of drowning in the seventeenth year of his life. Albert A. Pope, is situated at the opening of Jerusalem Road, near West' Corner, fronted by a broad lawn and looking up Strait's Pond toward the Black Rock. Our congregation has st

Dear Parishioners and Friends of the Panagia Community,

On Sunday, July 19th, there will be no Orthros nor Divine Liturgy Services. Fr Constantine has been asked to celebrate the Divine Liturgy and a Baptism at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Church in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Our Church, however, will be open for candle lighting and private prayers from 10:00-11:00 AM.

Fr. Constantine will be back on Sunday, July 26th.

On Wednesday June 17, 2026, Philoptochos Members visited the residents of Hellenic Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Canton, MA. The ladies brought the residents homemade Rizogalo (Rice Pudding) and Fanouropita Mini Muffins. The Staff was very welcoming and the Residents were very happy to eat our goodies and talk with us individually. Holy Tuesday Evening: April 7th Matins 6:00 pm, Service of the Bridegroom and Hymn of Kassiani (in anticipation of Holy Wednesday).

Holy Wednesday Evening: April 8th, 6:00 pm. Sacrament of Holy Unction
Holy Thursday Morning: April 9th, 9:30 am Vesperal Divine Liturgy of St Basil the Great. (Commemoration of the Last Supper (Mystical Supper) and 
Consecration of the 
“Amnos” (the Lamb)


Holy Thursday Evening: April 9th, 6:00 pm, (Orthros of Holy Friday, Service of the Passion of Christ, and The Reading of the 12 Gospels).

Holy Friday, April 10th, Great Vespers: Service of the Un-nailing (Apokathelosis)
2:45 pm Myrrh-bearing women (of any age) are needed to assist 
Father Constantine at the foot of the Cross.

Holy Friday Evening: April 10th Orthros of Holy Saturday at 6:00 pm Lamentations Service Procession of the Epitaphion with Altar Servers and Myrrh-Bearing Women.

Holy Saturday Morning: April 11th Vesperal Liturgy of St Basil the Great Celebration of the Proti-Anastasi, (the first Anastasi service) 9:30 am.

Holy Saturday Evening: April 11th Paschal Vigil of the Resurrection 10:45 PM-11:45 pm followed by the Archepiscopal Encyclicals.

Easter Sunday: April 12th Anastasi Service: Orthros/Divine Liturgy: 
at 12:00 AM -1:30 AM

Easter Sunday: Agape Service April 12th 11:00 am -12:00 PM
