We had one of the church JustServe/America250 trucks pull into Towanda, PA last week.

The truck was full of food and household products. It set out from Utah and came to a stop at the warehouse of CHOP—Child Hunger Outreach Partners. They serve 18 counties in PA.

I’m thankful we were able to provide this service to CHOP so they can help families in central and eastern PA.

This year we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 when we declared our independence from Great Britain.

In a country that was built upon these freedoms: equality and pursuit of happiness may seem out of reach at times. We need to follow Christ’s example and show love to all people and help those in need so they can find happiness too.

Service is a key component in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Heavenly Father has given everyone a gift. Let’s use these gifts to help others and to serve where we can.

United States of America—the name of this great nation. United as states, but also, United as people; one body—one great nation.

My prayer is that we serve those who need help in their pursuit of happiness.

The night before Jesus’ death, He was betrayed by one of His own Apostles. Judas Iscariot sold Jesus’ whereabouts to the Pharisees for thirty pieces of silver. Then he led the Roman army to Jesus and pointed Him out by a kiss on His cheek.

Jesus willingly allowed Himself to be crucified. Hanging on the cross between two thieves, Jesus asked His Father to forgive the Romans and Jews.

The day we celebrate as Easter, is the day Christ was Resurrected. He bridged the gap between our world and heaven. Jesus proclaimed, “I am the Light.”

Jesus truly has risen. Because of Him, we too will live again and be resurrected.

As the last week of Jesus’ life approached, He must have been full of emotions. He was God’s Beloved Son and He was soon going to face His biggest challenge yet. His Apostles didn’t understand where He was going and why they couldn’t go with. His Jewish followers didn’t understand why He didn’t save Himself like He healed others. The Pharisees didn’t believe He was the Messiah. The Romans feared the people and the kingdom that he spoke of. Still, Jesus pushed forward, fulfilling His Father’s will and not His own.

Have you ever asked yourself, “How could people who waited generations for the Messiah to come and having the description from Isaiah of who to expect, still doubt Jesus?”

Do you think it’s possible that they waited for so long for the Messiah that they thought it couldn’t possibly be Him? After all, why come now after all this time?

The Messiah did come. He did sacrifice Himself for us so we have a chance to live again with our Heavenly Maker and Father.

Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. He suffered all we do in the Garden of Gethsemane so He knows how to comfort us.

Believe in Him and believe in His words.

“You’re invited to remember the events of the last week of Jesus Christ’s mortal life, when He overcomes sin and death. As you learn more about Him, feel His love and follow His example, you will find peace, hope, and joy that comes from being His disciple.” (ChurchofJesusChrist.org)

Day 1; Palm Sunday

Jesus entered Jerusalem to fulfill His final sacred mission. The crowd welcomed Him with palm leaves crying “Hosanna in the Highest” (or please save us). For generations, the people in Jerusalem have waited for the Messiah to come and save them from oppression. Imagine their joy as they welcomed the Savior.
