Like everything else, if we are not careful we can get complacent in our salvation. We can get to comfortable and just take it for granted essentially becoming luke warm.
It is easy to have "faith" and praise the Lord when things are going generally well. When things are mostly falling into place and working properly.
But it is in the storm, when that faith is tested, when the trails are coming against us that we realize in Whose hand we are held. It is when we can find peace in the midst of chaos, when we can find strength when we are tired, when we can worship in the midst of a "prison cell" as Paul and Silas did, THEN we know the worth of the anchor that holds us.
It is in those times that Christ is proven to be our solid foundation that is not swayed by the wind and the waves. It is in those times we "remember" that our trust relies in Him.
Sometimes it takes a storm to remind us, re-center us, re-ground us, and in those times He proves His faithfulness.
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.

Many think that the attacks of the enemy will be obvious. He does not generally come knocking on the front door wearing a red suit, pointy tail, horns and a pitchfork. He looks for the slightest cracks in the foundation. He is not expecting a wide open door, he squeezes in the weak spots that have become unattended to.
Remember, Satan is a snake. He only needs a small opening to weave his way in. Areas that have become weak, neglected, compromised give him access and the next thing we know, he is full blown in the middle of our space.
As we begin a new month, let us that this mile-marker to check for cracks. A time to reflect and see if there are any areas that we have dropped our guard and left the snake an opening. Let us make sure the foundation is secure and then continue to build on it.
Happy New Month. Love you all. May God richly bless you in it and may it be your greatest and most prosperous (in all areas, not just money) so far. In Jesus name. Amen.

I am grateful for what God has done in my life in the past. And according to what He has done, I can only be expectant for what He is going to do in the future.
If He has done it before, He will certainly do it again.
If He has done it for someone else, He will do it for me because He is no respecter of persons.
He has given His children promises and He is not a man that He can lie, so when we chase His heart, He is then obligated by His word to fulfill His promises.
That places an expectancy in my heart that only God can fulfill. Appreciative for what He has done, but excited for what is ahead.
Lord I thank you now, for what is to come.
Love you all. Have a blessed weekend. In Jesus name. Amen.

What a difference perception makes.
Many times we say "God gave us one more day to...."
But when we take a good look at that, we realize that means another day is gone. That means this one more day, is one less day than we had yesterday.
Did we do anything meaningful with our yesterday?
Did we make the most of the "one more day" yesterday?
In that reflection, what will we do with what we have been given for today?
Each man (and woman) is given a determined amount of time that only God knows. It is not like a bank account that we can track and know exactly how much is left. We do not know when it will run out, we are not promised tomorrow.
But since we have this day, what will we do with it?
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.

The Pharisees put many "laws" in place that served themselves and not the Lord. They forced these laws upon the church. Jesus even asked them in Matthew 15:3 (NLT) - "And why do you, by your traditions, violate the direct commandments of God?"
Many churches (denominations) are following suit by following traditions, their own created rules, and have drifted from the truth of scripture. They have used these doctrines to establish their identities and stand harder on these than on what the bible actually says.
This changes when we will actually read the bible ourselves. When we spend time in the word and spend time in prayer, the Holy Spirit reveals truth. And if truth does not add up with tradition, we have to make a decision of which one to follow.
I actually had a friend tell me, "My husband and I don't agree with the direction that our church has decided to go, but that is where all of our friends go and we have been members there for years".
She chose tradition over truth.
The choice we decide to make has eternal consequences.
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.

When God sent Moses to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt He told Moses to tell Pharaoh that "I AM" sent Him.
One of the most powerful names of God is "I AM".
What that means to each of us is that God is the "I AM" for whatever we need.
He is our Saviour.
He is our Deliverer.
He is our Healer.
He is our Provider.
He is our Strength.
He is our Patience.
He is our Peace.
He is our Rest.
He is our .........
God is the "I AM" of our situation, our condition, our circumstances where He will never leave nor forsake His children. What God is not is a fairy godmother waiting to grant every wish or whim that we have. He is not a genie in a bottle waiting to grant 3 wishes. He is a good Father waiting on a relationship with His children.
For those who love Him and put their trust in Him, He is everything they need.
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.

No miracle ever happened when things were going great. There had to be an impossible need, condition, situation for a miracle to take place, otherwise it wouldn't be a miracle. We all like miracles, we just don't like what puts us in the need for one.
But like the woman with the issue of blood, her faith remained even in her condition. When the miracle came, Jesus told her "YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WHOLE".
It is walking in faith in the midst of the storm that sets the atmosphere for the miracle to come. Mary and Martha more faith than many, but when their brother died, they didn't have the faith for their miracle. They had seen blind eyes opened, they had see people healed, but they had not seen the dead raised. They told Jesus IF He had been there earlier (before Lazarus died) that he would have been healed. THAT they had faith for, but Jesus didn't come until after he had died because He was about to take their faith to a new level. That day they gained "raise the dead" faith.
Are we able to believe for what we have never seen?
That is the kind of faith Jesus desires that we walk in. Besides, if we have to see it before we believe it, is it really faith?
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.

People are elevated too many times because of their gifts, but all of those things are outweighed by the condition of the heart. We celebrate the things we see that are on display, the preaching, the singing, the writing and the praying, but the foundation of that will not last long if there is no humility in the heart.
People can learn (be taught) how to preach a message, we can take lessons on singing and writing, these are things that can be honed over time.
BUT can we admit when we are wrong? Are we willing to ask for forgiveness when we are out of order? Are we even able to admit that there is something we don't know the answer to? If the "leader" does not have humility in his (or her) heart, they are not really a leader. It may appear so for a period of time, but eventually it will be exposed.
Jesus wrapped a towel around his waist and began to wash the disciples feet. How many of those that we "lift up" for their giftings today would be willing to step off of the platform and wrap a towel around their waist?
Better yet, how many, if the platform was taken away, would even return the following week.
Man looks at the outside, God looks at the heart!
Love you all. Have a blessed day. In Jesus name. Amen.
