In the Book of Hebrews, in the middle of the “faith” chapter, the Holy Spirit wrote this:

…All these people died having faith. They did not receive the things that were promised, yet they saw them in the distant future and welcomed them, having confessed that they were strangers and foreigners on earth. For people who say such things make it clear that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking about what they had left behind, they would have had an opportunity to go back. Instead, they were longing for a better country, that is, a heavenly one. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, because he has prepared a city for them. (Hebrews 11:13-16)

My friends! don't let satan tempt you to go backward with this lie - that the place you left (or are now languishing in) is better than the place God has made for you, has set aside just for you.

The Israelites, who longed for Egypt, believed that lie and died in the desert.

Instead, embrace the new life found in the loving arms of your true Father in Heaven. The One who lavishes you with good and perfect gifts. The One who gives you rest. The One who never lies.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who, through His great mercy, has given us new birth, into a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead; into an inheritance - incorruptible, undefiled, unfading - reserved in heaven for you! (1 Peter 1:3-4)

Who remembers this concert that was really the event that lead to Idaho Ruby's and the Building? Wish that we had some video of this! Packed out the Christian Center, probably violated a couple of building capacity fire codes. Bridgett Hart came up with the name of the band and I think made the poster. David Hoit was the drummer of Revelation and secured the venue due to an "in" with the pastor, Robert Gorton as lead guitar and singer, harmonica etc. Greg Linnebach on bass and Steve Clemons on guitar. Was Jesse Kennedy there then too?? Our first meeting with Dax Johnson who was with Soul Patrol and became such a part of the Building and with the wonderful Set Free Posse from Stanwood, Washington. Michael S Tarsi and Maray Tarsi and Matthew Simonis and Dewan Saylor Simonis driving all the way across Washington State to be here with the Set Free Posse
