I would much prefer to keep my personal life private.
The past several years have been exceptionally difficult for our family, and I do not take lightly the decision to make any part of that public. However, as a pastor and as a father, I also have a responsibility to bring clarity where confusion has been created.
For the sake of the church, and for the sake of my children, I am sharing this summary judgment so that those who desire clarity can hear directly what was examined and established in court.
It reflects a more complete and accurate account than what is currently being circulated.
What is currently being circulated is not simply incomplete, it is selectively constructed. Key findings and context that were examined in court have been omitted, including the fact that central claims were tested and not sustained in that setting, while partial information has been elevated in a way that creates a misleading account.
It is also important to recognize that some of this narrative is being shaped by individuals with prior personal involvement in these matters. That context matters when considering how and why certain claims are being presented.
In situations like this, it is often not only what is said, but what is left out, that forms the narrative.
On the advice of counsel, I won’t address every claim in this format, and out of respect for the process ALREADY underway, I will not speak to every detail here. But I do want to be clear that what has been said is being taken seriously, and appropriate legal steps are being taken to address statements that misrepresent what was established.
I’m not interested in engaging in speculation or online debate. My aim is to remain steady, truthful, and faithful in what God has entrusted to me.
