HE IS RISEN!
The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you!
Romans 8:11

Lori asked me to post this...so here you go;

This Sunday, April 1st is the infamous day of prolific practical joking. For one day only, jokesters across the nation will laughingly share their pranks while unsuspecting individuals become the brunt of laughter. Individuals, friends, family members, neighbors, radio DJs, and even a few news anchors are known to get in on the action in an attempt to make others laugh.

The origination of April 1st as the national day of pranks is shrouded in mystery, but whether you are of a joking nature or not, everyone has heard those infamous words at some point: “April Fools!” In fact, many who have encountered such a joke, find themselves suspicious of every oddity that happens on April 1.
Is this a joke? Is someone pranking me? Is this for real?

This year, Easter Sunday, the day around the world that Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, coincides with April 1st. The last time this alignment occurred was in 1956. On the first Easter, the original Resurrection Sunday, John tells us the story of Mary Magdalene approaching the tomb of Jesus and the surprise that ensued when she discovered that the tomb was now empty. Running to Peter and John, she states in verse 2 of John, chapter 20, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”
We see this moment of confusion take place when Peter and John run to the tomb, find it empty, see the grave clothes, and verse 9 tells us, “They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.” For a moment in time, they likely thought to themselves, “Is this a joke? Is someone pranking us? Is this for real?”

Already burdened with the pain of seeing their master crucified, Peter and John head home (one believed immediately the other we aren’t sure of) while Mary stays near the tomb weeping. At some point she sees someone she assumed it was the gardener but it is Jesus Himself is standing there, and He asks her,
“Why are you crying?
Who is it that you are looking for?”

She didn't recognize that it was Jesus, but instead says, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” It is almost as if she is saying, enough is enough. Stop with the kidding. Let’s put his body back in the tomb where it belongs.

It is when Jesus calls her by name, “Mary,” that she realizes, this is no joke, this is for real, Jesus is risen! Suddenly, she cries out to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” meaning “Teacher.” He then sends her to the disciples to share the news, to which she excitedly states, “I have seen the Lord!”

This Easter Sunday, I want to encourage each of us to take another look.

Yes, the tomb is empty. No, it is not a joke. The empty tomb is real and it represents the power of God’s promises in our lives. It represents the power of the name of Jesus. The empty tomb means that our Savior is alive and He wants to be a part of your life. It means that healing, forgiveness, grace, and mercy are readily available.

Take another look this Sunday, or any day for that matter. You will find that the tomb is still empty. You will also find him standing by; waiting to welcome whosoever will ask Him. Know that He desires to call you by name and have you recognize Him as your Savior. He desires to be the answer to your tears and heartache. The answer to all of your questions.

So don’t be fooled this April 1st. Respond to the call of your Savior!

Friday March 30th
Jesus has now been up over 24 hours. Early this morning He was bought before a Pilate who transferred His case to Herod. Herod has sent Him back to Pilate who, sometime later in mid-morning, Pilate will bow to the pressure of the Temple leadership and the crowds, and condemned Jesus to a horrible death by crucifixion. Jesus will be taken by the soldiers through the city and up the hillside of Golgotha. By noon He will be nailed to the cross where He will hang in agony for some three hours.
Darkness will cover the sun, there will be an earthquake…
Jesus will call out…”It is finished!”
He will give up His Spirit (for no man takes it from Him) around three in the afternoon. He is taken down from the cross and placed in the tomb hastily before sundown.
Today is a day of prayer and I’d encourage you to consider fasting

Consider too how the apostles might have gathered this evening together in fear on all that happened.

Thursday March 29th
Today marks the beginning of the sacred "three days."
Sometimes referred to as “the still days”.
In the Catholic Church it’s called “Triduum”
After the evening Maundy Thursday service tonight (starts at 7:00), church bells and all forms of music are silenced. It marks the end of the forty days of Lent and the beginning of the three-day celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ -Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
These last Forty Days have been a time of preparation for these great Three days. Salvation for mankind is at work within the framework of this time.

Earlier this day Jesus had given instructions to the disciples on how to prepare for the Passover meal, which will be His last supper. Through the day they make these preparations Matthew 26:17

Now in your mind imagine;
We are in the upper room
Jesus has just washed the feet of all the disciples. John 13:1
Jesus breaks the bread
Jesus passes the cup
They sing hymns
Judas slips out for the betrayal

After the Seder is finished (the Passover meal) the apostles and Jesus make a short journey across the Kidron Valley t. Matthew 26:30.

You are there with Jesus in the Garden, the Disciples are nearby all sleeping…visualize Him there….praying as He goes through His agony.
I have shared with you before, I believe this is where our soul is saved…Yes He had to complete the work but here the decision is made.
Here Jesus fully submits to the Father’s plan for you and me.

It’s near midnight… Jesus is betrayed by Judas. He is arrested and taken to the house of the High Priest. Matthew 26:47.
The plan of Salvation has begun.

Wednesday March 28th
Traditionally this day was called "the day of betrayal" for it was on this Wednesday before the crucifixion that Judas conspired to hand Jesus over.
For this he was paid thirty pieces of silver, the going rate for a slave Matthew 26:14.
Jesus likely spent the day in Bethany.

In the evening Mary of Bethany anoints Jesus with costly perfumed oil.
Judas objects but Jesus rebukes him and says Mary has anointed Him for His burial!
Matthew 26:6
The wicked are besetting Jesus and plotting against him. Are you praying?

Tuesday March 27th
According to Matthew, Mark and Luke, Jesus again returns to Jerusalem today where He is confronted by the Temple leadership for what He did yesterday in the temple. They question His authority.
He also teaches extensively using parables and other forms.
There is the parable of the vineyard in Matthew 21:33-46,
The parable of the wedding banquet, Matthew 22:1.
There is also the teaching on paying taxes Matthew 22:15 and
The rebuke of the Sadducees who deny the resurrection Matthew 22:23.
There is also the fearful prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem if the inhabitants do not come to faith in Him.
He warns that not one stone will be left on another Matthew 24.
Read and listen carefully to His final teachings.
If you knew you were going to die wouldn’t you chose the most important lessons that needed to be learned?
What is the Lord teaching us from these verses today 2018?

Praying for Donna today!

Monday March 26th
According to Matthew 21, Mark 11 and Luke 19, Jesus now returns to Jerusalem today and, seeing the sin of those selling in the Temple area, He makes a whip and cleanses the Temple.
John’s Gospel also records that He rebuked the unbelief of the crowds.
Mark 11:19 records that He returned again to Bethany that night.
What is He experiencing tonight?
Is He able to sleep?
Is He able to eat?
Fellowship with the Disciples or friends?
It’s okay to imagine,
What would you have done if you were with Him tonight?

Palm Sunday March 25th
Our celebration of Holy Week begins today Sunday March 25th, 2018 As we remember and make present the triumphal entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem to begin His final week.

All four of the Gospel writers recount this triumphant entry that first day of the week (Sunday morning) so long ago.
As you received your palm branch today I hope you are able to consider that you are part of that vast crowd.
How will you journey with Jesus this week?
Let the palm remind you to Praise Him for who He truly is.
According to Mark 11:11 Jesus returned that evening to Bethany, a suburb of Jerusalem.
He may have stayed with his friends Martha, Mary and Lazarus the bible doesn’t tell us for sure but my imagination again takes over. Wherever He is will you… mediate on what Jesus begins to experience in His emotional, spiritual and physical being as He considers the difficult days ahead of Him.

This is a special week...today, Palm Sunday all the way through until Easter morning. This week we will follow Jesus and each day learn, watch, pray and hopefully experience what this week truly was for those that lived it. I'll post daily. Lord open eyes and reveal the new, the old but most of all You!

After much debate service is cancelled today. Blowing snow, near zero visibility. Cars are stuck trying to come up the road. Pray for the Wilson, Welch, Kondash families all trying to travel back to Cody. Still have families down with that flu bug. Make time to pause in the comfort of our warm homes today and spend some quiet, quality time with the Lord. What does He have for YOU to do for HIM this week? Don't forget next Sunday night we are showing the powerful movie " The Insanity of God". You won't want to miss it. God bless you today. You will be missed.
