I (Latisha) will be turning in a check to the cemetery committee for what has been received so far to that account! Hope to see you there. And if you have any questions but cannot be there, please send them so they can be addressed. Thanks!

Please share with anyone you know who has family in Reed, Dorlon, and Hill cemeteries in Heron Bay and Alabama Port. Your continued support is needed and greatly appreciated!

Sorry for the delay. I forgot to mail letters early. If you are not on the mailing list, here is a copy of the annual report that will go out tomorrow. Our annual cemetery dinner will be on Sunday, May 18 at first Baptist Church of Heron Bay at 12:30. The dinner will be held in the building behind the church. We depend on the support of our community to keep our cemeteries clean and maintained. We thank you for your continued support to our local cemeteries in Alabama Port and Heron Bay.

Today the Dorlon Cemeteries Annual Donation Drive Dinner brought in $3,350 in donations. This may seem like a lot, and it was twice as much as last year, but grass cutting also went up to $400 for the three cemeteries. The grass is cut 10-12 times per year not to mention other required maintenance. The stumps were ground down in Reed cemetery in Alabama Port and limbs were trimmed in Dorlon, Reed, and Hill cemeteries. We also will be working on e-donation platform through Venmo or PayPal. Stay tuned for updates. Thank you to Zirlott Road United Methodist Church for hosting todays dinner and for all those who showed up and donated to support the cemeteries in our community. There also may be a community cemetery cleanup day announced after it cools off (and the biting flies clear out) just to do some clearing and cleaning. PS: Friendly reminder that if you bring flowers, please throw away any old ones.
